BodyTite Liposuction in Miami, FL

BodyTite Liposuction pairs traditional liposuction with radiofrequency-assisted lipolysis (RFAL). A cannula electrode inside the fat and a plate electrode on the skin generate bipolar radiofrequency energy between them, coagulating fat and stimulating collagen contraction under the skin. It is designed for patients with mild-to-moderate laxity who want skin tightening without an excisional lift.

How BodyTite works

The internal cannula electrode delivers radiofrequency energy that travels to an external electrode plate on the skin surface. Fat between the electrodes is heated to a coagulation temperature and aspirated; the underside of the dermis is heated to a target temperature that stimulates collagen contraction. Continuous internal and external temperature monitoring prevents thermal injury.

What it can and cannot do

BodyTite can provide meaningful skin tightening for mild-to-moderate laxity in the abdomen, arms, thighs, and neck. It cannot substitute for excisional lifting when redundant skin, stretch-mark damaged skin, or diastasis recti is present.

Ideal candidates

  • Mild-to-moderate skin laxity
  • Reasonable overall health
  • Reject or defer excisional lift
  • Post-partum patients without significant diastasis
  • Older patients with declining skin elasticity

Contraindications

  • Significant redundant skin
  • Diastasis recti requiring repair
  • Metal implants that could interact with RF (case by case)
  • Pregnancy or unstable weight

Anesthesia

BodyTite is typically performed under general anesthesia when combined with meaningful liposuction volumes. Isolated small-area BodyTite (e.g., arms alone) can be performed under deep IV sedation with tumescent local.

Recovery timeline

  • Day 0–2Rest, garment on, expected drainage.
  • Day 3–7Ambulation, first massage; skin feels warm and tender.
  • Week 2Desk work resumed.
  • Week 3–4Cardio resumed; skin retraction visible.
  • Month 3Meaningful contour and tightening visible.
  • Month 6–12Collagen remodeling completes.

Risks and complications

  • Thermal burn (skin or subcutaneous)
  • Contour irregularity
  • Seroma
  • Hematoma
  • Infection
  • Sensory change
  • Under-tightening if laxity was underestimated
  • Prolonged tenderness

Every surgical procedure carries risk. A complete personalized risk discussion is part of every consultation.

Cost factors

  • Surgeon fee and BodyTite premium per area
  • Anesthesia and facility fee
  • Number of areas treated
  • Compression garments and massage
  • Follow-up

Questions to ask your surgeon

  1. How many BodyTite cases do you perform yearly?
  2. What temperature end-points do you use internally and externally?
  3. What is your protocol if the external temperature exceeds target?
  4. Would I be a better candidate for a tummy tuck / arm lift / thigh lift?
  5. Is Renuvion an option for me and how would you decide?
  6. What is your revision policy?

Frequently asked questions

What is BodyTite?
BodyTite (InMode) is a radiofrequency-assisted lipolysis (RFAL) device that pairs an internal cannula electrode with an external skin electrode. Radiofrequency energy passes between them, coagulating fat and delivering thermal energy to the underside of the dermis to stimulate collagen contraction.
How much skin tightening can I expect?
Published and observed skin-contraction ranges for RFAL are approximately 20–40% area reduction. Results are best for mild-to-moderate laxity; significant loose skin still requires excisional lifting.
Is BodyTite the same as Renuvion?
No. BodyTite uses bipolar radiofrequency energy between an internal and external electrode. Renuvion uses helium plasma and radiofrequency energy under the skin. Both add skin tightening but through different physical mechanisms.
Which is better, BodyTite or Renuvion?
Neither is universally superior. BodyTite has more mature outcome literature for body contouring; Renuvion is FDA-cleared for specific applications, and the FDA has issued device-specific safety information that any Renuvion provider must follow.
Is BodyTite safe?
BodyTite is FDA-cleared and generally safe in trained hands. The main device-specific risk is thermal injury (burn) if end-point temperatures are exceeded. Real-time internal and external temperature monitoring is essential.
What areas can be treated?
Common BodyTite areas include abdomen, flanks, arms, thighs, submentum (neck/jawline), and bra roll. It is often added to Lipo 360.
Does BodyTite hurt?
During surgery there is no pain (anesthesia). Postoperatively BodyTite areas may feel more tender than plain liposuction because of the thermal component, but this typically resolves within 1–2 weeks.
How long is recovery?
Recovery is similar to standard liposuction with 2–3 additional days of noticeable warmth or tenderness. Garment and massage protocols are the same.
How much does BodyTite cost in Miami?
Adding BodyTite typically increases a liposuction plan by about $1,500–$4,500 per body area. Complete BodyTite Lipo 360 plans in Miami often range from $12,000 to $20,000+.
When will I see skin tightening?
Immediate contraction is visible on the operating table. Collagen remodeling continues for 3–6 months, with final skin appearance at 6–12 months.
Can BodyTite replace a tummy tuck?
No. BodyTite tightens skin modestly; it does not remove excess skin or repair diastasis recti. Post-pregnancy patients with significant laxity are typically better served by tummy tuck.
Am I a candidate?
Candidates have mild-to-moderate skin laxity, want fat removal, and prefer scar-minimal treatment over excisional lifting. Significant laxity, prior massive weight loss, or diastasis recti generally requires more than BodyTite alone.
